Hello from Dodoma Tanzania and Iringa Road Lutheran Church. Since Ohio went off daylight savings time there is now 8 hours difference in time.

Jeanne Harmon, Ron Hiatt, and Pastor Jacobs arrived safely last Friday.  We had dinner with the retiring Bishop Peter Mwamasika and Bishop Elect Festo Ngowo. Saturday we were picked up by  Pastor Uforo and members of Iringa Road Lutheran Church. Great to see Godwin and also Pastor Mlahagwa, now living in another region working among the Masi people. Saturday Pastor Mlahagwa's son and daughter-in-law in Dodoma had a baby girl whom Pastor Mlahagwa was able to hold.

Our Sunday was very busy with two services (7 am and 10:30, 2 1\2 hours each) and Holy Communion with Sunday School in between services. Pastor Jacobs preached and Jeanne and Ron also spoke to the congregation to bring warm greetings from the people of Grace LC in Toledo, Ohio.  We presented Pastor Uforo with the stole Ginny Lauman made. We also presented the two prayer shawls which were received with great appreciation. The sun glasses are also a big hit with both adults and children. As is the custom at Iringa Road, Pastor Jacobs made an additional offering for his wife's birthday (Nov. 1) and special prayers were offered for Ann as her husband knelt at the altar rail.

We are having our meals in homes of different members so we will have the opportunity to visit many church members. Today we had morning devotions with the nursery school children and other members who came. Ron told the story behind Albrecht Druhers (sp?) sculpture of "Praying Hands". We also visited the Habitat for Humanity office and Mission Aviation Fellowship.

The weather is hot, sunny and dry.  They have not had any measurable rainfall since February. They are expecting some rainfall in November and if not for sure in December.

Please share this with the congregation as some do not have email and other I do not have an email address for.

Keep us in prayer and thanks for your partnership in ministry.
