Men in Mission

What's new with Lutheran Men in Mission?

Twenty-Ten rings in a new year and a new decade. It also rings in some new things for the Lutheran Men in Mission.

Our synod’s LMM organization “claim to fame” is the wooden crosses on a chain that are sold as the main fundraiser to purchase Master Builder Bibles for the Men’s Bible Study Groups. In the past these have been a great sales item for personal use and for gifts. This year, several very attractive and unique designs have been developed and are currently being added to inventory.

Starting with the first Sunday in February, and for the next 3 months, LMM will have a table set up in Brenner Hall to exhibit and sell their wooden crosses. Please stop by, and take a look at what’s “new”, and what’s “classic”.

Another “new” activity is also in the works. Last year’s LMM Labor Day
Walk The Mack” exceeded all expectations. Over $2,350.00 was raised to purchase Bibles by 18 folks from 8 churches who walked, obtained sponsors, or helped with the event! Everyone had a great time, and the weather was awesome. This started as one man’s idea only weeks before the walk.
LMM has decided to go ahead and sponsor another Labor Day Walk in 2010. Much was learned and will be incorporated into the planning of this year’s event, which has already begun. If you have an interest in walking, providing support on the day of the walk, or supporting the effort from afar… please keep Monday September 6th open for this event. More details will follow in the coming months.
